Minimum Requirements: Doctor of Medicine degree (may be foreign equivalent); completion of three
(3) year residency program in Internal Medicine; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine; and licensed to practice
medicine on Guam by the Guam Board of Medical Examiners.
Position Duties: Diagnoses,
treats, and provides continuous care to adult hospital inpatients in the general, medical telemetry, and surgical wards. Utilizes
and applies knowledge of internal medicine in treating adult hospital inpatients. Prescribes medications and treatment regimens
to adult hospital inpatients. Orders and interprets the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiographs (x-rays)
for adult hospital inpatients. Monitors condition and progress of the adult hospital inpatients coordinates patient care activities
of nursing staff, and reevaluates treatment, as necessary. Records and maintains the adult hospital inpatients’
information, such as medical history, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and progress. Communicates with the case managers/social
workers regularly for the adult hospital inpatients to form discharge plan and discharges adult hospital inpatients.
Communicates with the adult hospital inpatients’ primary care physicians during their hospitalization upon admission,
when treatment plans change, or at discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care. Serves on hospital committees tasked
with continually improving the quality of its medical care and services. Provides medical care to adult hospital inpatients
using knowledge and application of internal medicine.
Rate of Pay: $316,512.00 per annum
