POSITION TITLE: Staff Physician (Rheumatologist)
WORKING HOURS:
40 hours/ week (minimum)
SALARY: $163,738/year (The employer will pay or exceed the prevailing wage,
as determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Our Staff Physician (Rheumatologist) will have
a range of responsibilities related to providing medical care to our patients. They’ll be expected to perform all assigned
duties while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, as well as acting in the best interest of GRMC
supporting our mission, vision, and values to optimize the health and well-¬being of our patients. Specifically, our Staff
Physician (Rheumatologist) will perform the following duties in the field of Rheumatology:
1.
Analyze records, reports, test results, and examination information to diagnose patient ailments and diseases, specifically
rheumatic conditions;
2. Use patient history and diagnostic tests to determine risks during surgical, obstetrical, and
other medical procedures;
3. Provide and manage long-term comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis and nonsurgical
treatment of diseases;
4. Prescribe and administer medication, therapy, and other specialized care to treat and prevent
rheumatic conditions;
5. Monitor patients’ conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary;
6.
Explain conditions and treatment plans to patients and their families;
7. Initiate appropriate specialty referrals;
8. Ensure that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with office, hospital, and government
policies;
9. Encourage increased patient understanding and involvement in care and treatment decisions;
10. Participate
in the development of medical services, including protocols, standard procedures, and management of patient-care related activities;
11. Provide on-call coverage as necessary to care for group practice patients of other physicians;
12. Give feedback
to and accept feedback from all staff in a respectful manner; and
13. Act in a positive and professional manner, complying
with practice policies, procedures, and federal state laws.
REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Medicine
(M.D.) or foreign equivalent, board certification in Internal Medicine (equivalent to 36 months of training), completion of
a Rheumatology Fellowship (equivalent to 24 months of training), and a Territory of Guam Medical License.
